Virtual opening of “The Recombinants”on Rhizome.org (Front-page, Online). “Cataratas” is on display.
August 25 - 27, 2017
Cataratas, as a part of a body of artwork of The Recombinants, is on display and hosted on Rhizome front page:
The Recombinants is an online group exhibition, organized and curated by Madja Edelstein-Gomez. Using an AI-generated curatorial algorithm, the exhibition "recombines" a body of artwork submitted in response to an open call. Produced, then, is a unique and live-processed experience for each individual viewer that blurs lines of authorship and disrupts the concept of the online exhibition.
On the same website, art historian and writer Lauren Studebaker interviewed Madja Edelstein-Gomez; the curator describes her recombinance ideas on “Curating by Numbers.”
